Our main goal for a Monday in York was to turn in our currently too big & expensive rental car for a much smaller one, to fit the tiny roads better, plus we had a telecom issue to take care of.  In York it was a quiet morning, completely uncrowded.

After the business part we strolled across the old town, had a late breakfast, and walked over to see the York Minster, one of the largest Cathedrals in Europe. We'd be back here in about a week to see it more fully.

It was a short day out & later we were shopping in Thirsk, the local bakery, a clothing store, & etc.
